I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Global and Interdisciplinary Studies (GIS) at Hosei University. I work on ethics broadly construed. My most recent research concentrates on the normative dimensions of love. I am also working on a series of co-authored papers on aesthetic appreciation with Daniel Star. In addition, my research focuses on the history of ethics. I am currently working on several projects on Friedrich Nietzsche, including a book for CUP's Cambridge Elements Series on Nietzsche and Love. I also have an interest in late 19th- and early 20th-century British moral theory.
